PMA Presents: Admiral Twin

November 16, 2007

Some may call Admiral Twin alternative rock, others powerpop, even indie… but, “what’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet”, I’ll just settle for great. The Tulsa natives have recently released their 5th long-player, The Center of the Universe, and man, is it catchy and just perfect for those long drives in a secluded highway — what am I saying? We don’t have secluded highways in LA… either way, Admiral Twin proves to be a fun listen — empowering even. A consistent slew of catchy, fun, BIG rock.

It’s not all just fun and games with Admiral Twin; the trio have skillfully created a slick blend of soaring hooks and harmonious melodies topped off with hyper, staggered, yet controlled sounds that send my ears in a fit of joy, which I’d like to dub as “the way alternative rock should sound like”. Ouch! Did I just label them again?

The Center of the Universe features rock explosions and eclectic pop-fused experimentations that have garnered Admiral Twin a legion of loyal fans. Admiral Twin is quick at work filming music videos for singles “In My Veins” and “Good As Gold” in support of their wonderful new opus. Expect a nice tour to go down soon. I will definitely catch them here on the West Coast.
