Those Japenese sure know how to promote their shows. This flier is so bad ass, just looking at it makes me want to go DaFunkFest, well, I guess the whole Daft
Punk thing might have something to do with it.
Jay-Z’s performance at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York is about to
be broadcast for the whole world to see, thanks to msn.com. The concert “in its entirety” (and supposedly “unedited”) will be broadcasted starting this Tuesday Nov. 20th. Expect special guest appearances by Diddy and Weezy (Lil Wayne for you unhip folks). I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw some Beyonce cha-cha… okay maybe a little.
New Yorker’s Yeasayer have just been confirmed as support for Arcade Fire’s concert on Monday (November 19).
The atmospheric band will play with the Canadian chamber-pop merchants at London’s Alexandra Palace.
Make sure to catch the show! Below, catch an early recording of a Neon Bible favorite. This song had us chanting “Us Kids Know” for how long again?
Nah Right has an mp3 of a new Lupe Fiasco joint. Lupe performed “Hello Goodbye” live at Vegoose recently, sounding reminiscent of Rush! I still haven’t decided whether that’s a good thing or not. Maybe Lupe is getting a bit carried away with this whole prog-rock “concept album”.
Then again we still have all of The Cool (In Stores 12.18.07) to consider. Enjoy the live track below:
Wasn’t the innocuous Brandon Flowers who said he wants to beat bands like Fall Out Boy “to death”? Way to get back at him, Pete! Perform “Mr. Brightside” in front of thousands of fans during VooDoo and possibly one-up the Las Vegas crooners?
The perfect punishment for releasing a horrendous Joy Division cover as a single. Yes, I am still angry at Flowers for that. Sawdust can go collect all the dust it wants on Walmart shelves for all I care, even though “Tranquilize” is nothing short of brilliant — this is what iTunes is for.
Enough about the Killers, the video’s quality isn’t great, but I would love to hear a studio version of this, it would be fantastic! This song suits Patrick’s voice amazingly well.
Don’t you just love those close ups (of their hats!).
I enjoy cover posts, its always fun to relive your favorite songs through the voice of someone new and fresh. Here is a handful of covers I found floating around my iTunes Library.
Here is Bloc Party’s new non-album single, “Flux”. What can I say about these boys, they were simply amazing last weekend at Detour, but their new single is a bit… weird, and can only be described as an electro-ballad. It is surprisingly good, Bloc Party’s besty even, but it
does not come off very well live. Trust me.
